How to Mend a Broken Heart: Day 1

Cry. It's that easy.

Give yourself permission to cry. Seriously. If you have to write yourself a permission slip, do it. Cry. Scream. Let it OUT!

Letting ourselves FEEL is the healthiest thing we can do. Don’t hold back. Really feel as much as you can, every single day, tap into it. The more you feel now the less time it will take to heal and less painful it will be in the future. I promise.

Don’t judge yourself or compare yourself to others going through any kind of similar heartbreak. We all take our own time to grieve, heal and grow. It is a process and not a race.

Be patient and kind with yourself. If tears come, let them fall. If they don’t, it’s okay! Just don’t hold them back.

Grieving is natural and necessary.

I won’t lie, I’ve been crying for days…this sucks. At the end of the day, it always feels better to have cried then not. When my husband passed away, I held back. I was afraid to cry, afraid that if I started I would never stop. Trust me, that doesn’t happen. I thought I had to be strong for my kids…this was the furthest thing from the truth. I would have shown them even more strength through showing my emotions.

Cry, my friend….let the tears fall.
