How to Mend a Broken Heart: Day 4
Get UP! Yep, get up, dress up, show up…and NEVER give up! Seriously, it will do wonders to get up, get showered, get dressed, put make up on and walk out the door. I promise. This broken heart can’t hold you down. Pick yourself up by looking freaking incredible and heading out the door. It may last 5 minutes or 30 minutes….just do it!
I typically call a friend to meet me for coffee or lunch or dinner…and I purposely put mascara on because once that is on I promise myself I won’t cry. It is absolutely okay if I do….but I won’t want to!
Here’s the thing…you need to FEEL good. I know you are hurting. I know your heart aches and I know the tears are still falling. BUT, you need this! Allow yourself to feel great for an hour, then you can come home, put on the sweat pants and turn on Netflix to numb out for a bit before heading to bed and having another good cry. If you are heading into work, put some extra effort into how you look today. Feel your best, that feeling won’t leave you for a bit. And, make sure you put on a playlist that doesn’t have any “reminder” songs on it and dance and sing your way into work.
