How to Mend a Broken Heart:  Day 11

Change SOMETHING! Today, I cleaned and rearranged my living area.  It feels so good to change things up!  To me, it’s like old habits and patterns are being erased!  I’m no longer sitting in the same spot where we broke up or the same spot we had a four hour phone conversation….just by moving furniture!  Easy!

After my husband died the first thing I remember changing was my bedroom.  It was about 4 or 5 months out and I completely changed our bedroom with pink sheets, a white, frilly comforter, new lamps and I removed everything I could that was a reminder of him.  (I kept the furniture, not enough funds to do all that!)  This may sound harsh but I was creating a “safe” place for me.  It was the one room in the house that was all me, all mine and there was nothing that could trigger me.

What can you change today?  If the thought of changing something is a big deal for you…get clear and ask yourself why.  You can change anything you want…hair, nail polish, rearranging your closet…whatever feels the best for you!

I’m still waking up with swollen eyes from crying and my heart still hurts.  It’s getting easier.  My mother in law always says “This too shall pass.”  She’s not wrong.  (Don’t tell her that, though!)

How’s it going peeps?  What’s been coming up for you?  Has your heartache lessened?  Are you still struggling to move forward?  What’s getting in your way?  What can you do to be kind and gentle to yourself?

As always, I’m a phone call away….the first call is ALWAYS complimentary and helping YOU build your solid foundation, find your silver linings and live a life full of gratitude is what my life purpose is all about!

Peace, LOVE and Silver Linings, peeps!
